Travellers passing through Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport now have two new places to pause before long-haul or onward flights, as Plaza Premium Group has opened its first lounges in Thailand. The Hong Kong-based operator has launched both a standard Plaza Premium Lounge and a higher-end Plaza Premium First in Concourse G, near Gate G1, giving international departing and transit passengers a choice between a more everyday lounge experience and a more private, service-led option.

For leisure travellers, the practical appeal is straightforward: more space to sit, eat and freshen up in one of Bangkok’s busiest air travel hubs. According to Plaza Premium Group, the larger lounge covers 578 square metres and can hold 98 guests, while Plaza Premium First is a 212-square-metre space for 51. Both are airside on the third floor, so passengers will need to be through security and immigration before using them.

The two lounges are designed to suit different kinds of trips. Plaza Premium First offers concierge-style assistance, quieter areas for rest or work, and a more elevated food and drinks offer. The main Plaza Premium Lounge leans into local flavour, with Thai dishes and live cooking stations, alongside seating and zones aimed at solo travellers, families and business passengers. Plaza Premium Group says both lounges are open to travellers regardless of airline or ticket class, which should make them useful for a wide range of visitors connecting through Bangkok.

The opening also underlines Bangkok’s importance as a stopover and gateway for Thailand holidays. Plaza Premium Group, which says it has spent 28 years running independent airport lounges worldwide, has been expanding its premium brand from Hong Kong to hubs including Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Rome and Dallas-Fort Worth. For passengers, the immediate takeaway is simpler: if you are flying in or out of Bangkok and want a more comfortable wait, there is now a broader set of lounge options at Suvarnabhumi.
