Nok Air is preparing to return to India with a direct Bangkok-Hyderabad service from 14 October, a move that will give leisure travellers another low-cost option between Thailand and one of southern India’s major cities. The airline plans to fly from Don Mueang International Airport to Hyderabad four times a week, using a Boeing 737-8 with 189 seats, according to advance timetables reviewed online. FlightsFrom.com says the route is roughly three hours and 40 minutes non-stop.

The timing is notable because Thai AirAsia is also lining up a return to the same route, with services due to restart on 18 November. According to AirAsia’s own announcement, the carrier cut capacity earlier in 2026 after fuel costs rose and demand softened, and it temporarily paused the Bangkok-Hyderabad link from 1 June to 24 October. Its published schedule shows four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, using Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats. AirAsia’s booking site lists fares from THB 4,813 for November travel.

For travellers, the return of two budget airlines on the same city pair should improve choice and scheduling flexibility. Nok Air’s planned departure pattern will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while Thai AirAsia’s will follow a different set of days, which may help people find better connections for weekend breaks or longer holidays. Nok Air had suspended all international routes in June 2025, so the Hyderabad service marks a clear re-entry into the India market during the winter timetable running from October 2026 to March 2027.

Hyderabad is already one of India’s most useful gateways for visitors heading to Telangana and nearby parts of south-central India, so the added capacity could make trips from Thailand easier to plan without a connection. With both airlines using Don Mueang, travellers should also benefit from the airport’s more straightforward low-cost layout, though demand on the route may push prices around the launch period. For holidaymakers comparing flights, the key change is simple: from late 2026, Bangkok and Hyderabad are set to be linked by two competing non-stop budget services rather than one.
